Galaxy of Dad

“Galaxy of Dad” is a tribute to the artist’s father, who died when the artist was five years old. The artist’s impressions of his father come from his family’s stories rather than his own memory, and in this piece, he reaches for a connection and a depiction of his dad that is wholly his own. “His life made me, but his death shaped who I am today.”

The second piece called “Soaring Brother” is a tribute to the artist’s sibling whom he admires deeply. Through this portrait, the artist speaks directly to his brother and to the cyclical nature of relationships.  “Now that he has a son, I want to have the same relationship with his kid as he had with me.”
