Party For One: A Recipe for the Fragility of Adolescence

Copy of 1.png

Manya Sinha’s photography series “Party for One” is an antithesis to the jubilance and festivity that is expected of a birthday party. Inspired by Anjolie Menon’s 2014 Untitled Painting nicknamed “Birthday Party,” Sinha’s series uncovers the underlying anxiety that comes from growing older. The photographs follow recipe for existential dread; as the artist is cooked, childhood slips further away.

Manya is a photographer and videographer whose work explores notions of home and humanity.
