CHAOSMOS 1.jpg

In this series, Karakozak attempts to maintain a sharp sensitivity against human disorder through forming “pure” images that reflect her inner voice. The body is a shelter yet also the first example of an inner world–it is a language. Here, the uncanny is perceived as the alienation of human from the self. In this sense, Karakozak seeks to show a holding of both the familiar and the uneasiness arising from the revelation of the hidden. Meanwhile, the figures’ whiteness is used to highlight concepts of emptiness and absence in “fictional” human bodies. The figure(s) exist at a passage between the inner and outer worlds, where a blanket of silence is formed by the white and gray tones and their loneliness in this empty space, creating a strangely both peaceful and disturbing atmosphere.
