Home Is Where The Heart Is (Work in Progress)
2018 - Present
After finishing my degree in London, I returned to my family home in Wiltshire. I felt very detached and overwhelmed by the sudden departure from many years of education. Having felt haunted by past experiences and expectations, I saw my future before I lived it. I discovered that loneliness not only exists as a physical presence but also as an emotional state of mind. My understanding and awareness of home began to fall apart, and the four walls that surrounded me fueled the anxieties that exist in a young, recent graduate.
Jake Gill is a photographer based in London. He studied an Art & Design Foundation at the City of Bath College, followed by Photographic Arts at the University of Westminster in London. In 2019, Gill won the CSR Emerging Talent award from Travers Smith.
