Patriarchal Woman depicts the binary through which the eyes of a patriarchal society see women: as domestic and sexual servants. Historical portrayals of gender roles in art and the media render women as pleasers of the male desire. This artwork seeks to interrogate these beliefs and ignite a push for critical thought. We must actively engage with and defy these stereotypes, as sexism is still present in the contemporary representations of women in the media.
