Flesh Love All

FleshLoveAll_Hal Postscript.jpg

I want to express love through my work, because everything in the world is based on love. Everyone loves family and lovers. I think it is important whether it is directed around us.

If it is not directed, it can sometimes create disparities or create conflicts. Only love has the power to bring all things together, even across races and disparities. So we should spread the sense of love outward more and more across various communities.

Based on such an idea, I started a project to vacuum seal a couple and everything around them. Eventually the whole landscape becomes vacuum sealed, creating an image where everything in the world is part of one existence. The shooting location is the most important place for them. In order to participate in this project, you need to be ready for death and love next to you, and I need to be prepared for it too. To make the best memorial photo for the family.

Hal was born, educated and currently resides in Tokyo. In his university days, he starved for encounters with different people from other cultures around the world. As soon as he could, he left Japan and began his travels with a special focus on the Middle East and India. It was there where Hal first became aware of his passion for photography. The camera became the key to overcoming shyness and limited local language abilities in order to communicate in some way with the people he met. After graduating from university, Hal joined an advertising production company in Tokyo.
