Portraits of Staff at Maru-a-Pula School

"These two portraits are from 2018, of two security guards who work at Maru-a-Pula School, the place I spent my entire life before moving away to university, as my parents were teachers there. I chose to draw these specific people because they signify a place that has shaped me into who I am today. Whenever I returned home, it would be their smiling faces greeting me at the gates of the school. I cherish the relationship that I developed with them and the rest of the school's ground staff over my 20 years living in the school compound."
