Curry with Dad
I get home, starving
What’s for dinner? I ask
My dad is in the kitchen
What you got?
Let’s see here
Anger, Bitterness, Existential Thought?
Plenty
All best served hot
We put on our aprons and pick up the knives
Peel off the skin from the root of the problem
Chop up the large questions into roughly diced answers
Grate the anxiety into fine powder
Stir in the understanding
Volume of conversation brings the water to a boil
Lastly I throw myself into the pot
Tighten the lid
Watch it all grow tender
Serve it hot
Voila!
